On Thursday, 19th June 2025, the Department of Sociology conducted a Rain Walk in Veliyancode exclusively for the fifth semester students. The program was led by Head of the Department Mr. Abdul Wasih K. K, and faculty members Ms. Asma Sherin U and Ms. Mubashira K P. The event provided a refreshing and joyful experience for the students, combining nature with sociological reflection. The program was a great success.

Kaithang is a charitable initiative by the Department of Sociology in collaboration with SIP and IQAC. This program provides essential food kits to underprivileged individuals and families. Multiple editions of the program were conducted throughout the year on June 13, July 18, September 27, October 20, November 19, and February 17, ensuring continuous support to those in need. Faculty members, students, and volunteers actively participated in the collection, packaging, and distribution of food kits. Kaithang is recognized as one of the best practices of our college. The department, in collaboration with the Perinthalmanna Blood Bank, organized two blood donation camps during the academic year. Students, faculty members, and staff voluntarily participated in this noble cause, contributing to emergency healthcare services. The camps successfully raised awareness about the importance of blood donation and saw an overwhelming response from first-time donors.

In collaboration with disaster management authorities, a tsunami mock drill was organized to educate students and faculty on emergency preparedness and response strategies. The drill simulated an earthquake and tsunami scenario, helping participants understand evacuation procedures and the importance of disaster readiness.
